Fighting Forward

My name is Evan Wright. I am a 26-year-old CHRISTIAN cleverly disguised as the lead vocalist for Fighting Forward. I have the pleasure of writing the lyrics to our songs. I love to write because it is such a great outlet for my frustrations and my joy. I believe writing is a window to the soul. I want to write and sing songs that not only get people excited for Christ but that move their hearts into action, because Faith isn’t just what we believe, it’s a collection of everlasting, God-Breathed, truths that should move every Christian to action, Because action is the true, day to day, litmus test of our Faith (James 2:26).
My hope is that our music brings people to the realization of THEIR NEED FOR CHRIST or the realization that JESUS IS REAL and that HIS POWER, LOVE AND STRENGTH DWELL IN THOSE THAT PLACE THEIR TRUST IN HIM. I believe it is up to every Christian to take hold of the gifts God has given them, and utilize them FOR GOD’S GLORY.
I DON'T WANT CHRISTIANS TO SHY AWAY FROM THE SPOTLIGHT. I WANT THEM TO EMBRACE IT, FOR CHRIST'S GLORY. MY HOPE IS THAT OUR MUSIC PORTRAYS THAT TRUTH, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT IS IN MY HEART.

I grew up in a pastor's family (yes I'm a P.K.) and I came to know Jesus in my heart as my Lord and Savior at a young age. I also came to know the hypocrisy in church which really soured me toward church, but both my parents were, and are, completely sold out for Jesus. They're the real deal, and my biggest asset and they exemplify what it is to be a "real" Christian. If it wasn't for them being true to their faith in God, not just in church, but in their everyday life, I probably wouldn't even be serving the Lord. Thankfully they're still in there "fighting forward" for the cause of Christ! I LOVE YOU MOM AND DAD!!
I also grew up singing acapella and I always wanted to sing in a band but it just wasn't my time. I always thought my voice sounded funny, but that didn't deter me. I kept on singing all the time and finally got picked up by a band. I played with them for about a year and then I hooked up with FIGHTING FORWARD, while they were still forming and we've been rockin' ever since! I love my band; they're laid back, fun to be around and really down to earth. Just try talking to any of them, they're cool. There is not enough room on this page to put my whole bio , but my life is a definite tribute to the grace of God, and the fact that if you just MAKE YOURSELF AVAILABLE, CHRIST WILL USE YOU!!!!
